The President's Office is an Organ of State. It serves and supports the President to enable him to perform his Constitutional and ceremonial roles.
The President's Office consists of four sections:
(a) Ceremonial and Protocol Section
This Section performs the vital support role of organising events and external liaison and relations in all Presidential functions. The two full-time Aides-de-Camp (ADCs) who head this Section also command a corps of 60-odd Honorary ADCs and supervise the regimentation and discipline of the Istana Ceremonial Guards.
(b) Household Section
The only unit of its kind in the civil service, the Household Section takes care of the daily housekeeping and catering arrangements for all Istana functions. The Comptroller of Household plays an important role in maintaining the right measure of grandeur and ambience of the occasion. To assist her, she has a team of 23 butlers, 4 cooks and contract helpers.
