State Visit to the Republic of the Philippines

President Tony Tan Keng Yam was on a State Visit to the Philippines from 2 to 5 April 2014 at the invitation of Philippine President Benigno S. Aquino III. In this photo, President Tan is accompanied by President Aquino during the inspection of the Guard-of-Honour.

National Cancer Centre Singapore Charity Gala

President Tony Tan Keng Yam was the Guest-of-Honour at the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) Charity Gala Night on 29 March 2014. The funds raised at the event will go towards research and improvements in the treatment of cancer. In this photo, President, accompanied by Professor Soo Khee Chee, Director of NCCS, receives the donation from the daughters of the late Mrs Irene Bronsveld, who made a personal donation to cancer research before succumbing to the disease.

Visit to ORBIS

President Tony Tan Keng Yam visited the Flying Eye Hospital on 28 March 2014. The Flying Eye Hospital is a specially designed and converted DC-10 aircraft that is a high-tech ophthalmic training facility, which include a 48-seat classroom equipped with audio-visual technology, a laser treatment room as well as operating, sterilization and recovery rooms.

HE Ralph Samuel Thomas, High Commissioner of Jamaica, HE Walid Al-Hadid, Ambassador of The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and HE Professor David Dabydeen (pictured), High Commissioner of the Republic of Guyana, presented their credentials to President Tony Tan Keng Yam at the Istana on 27 March 2014.
