The President's Office is an Organ of State. It serves and supports the President to enable him to perform his Constitutional, ceremonial and community roles.
Structure
The President's Office consists of four sections:
(a) Ceremonial and Protocol Section
The Ceremonial and Protocol Section performs the vital support role of organising events and managing external liaison and relations in all Presidential functions. The section has three full-time Aides-de-Camp (ADCs) who are assisted by a corps of Honorary ADCs. The ADCs also supervise the regimentation and discipline of the Istana Ceremonial Guards.
(b) Household Section
The only unit of its kind in the civil service, the Household Section takes care of the daily housekeeping and catering arrangements for all Istana functions. The Comptroller of Household plays an important role in maintaining the right measure of grandeur and ambience of the occasion. The Comptroller has a team of butlers, chefs and contract helpers to assist her.
(c) Corporate Services Section
Finance, office administration, logistics support and public relations are all functions performed by the Corporate Services Section.
(d) Human Resource Section
The Human Resource Section manages all staff matters, such as appointment, service conditions, training and development.
