One of Singapore’s oldest heritage sites, the Istana turns 150 this year. A highlight of the year-long commemoration is the Istana 150 Commemorative Event to be held at the Istana on Sunday, 6 October 2019. Hosted by President Halimah Yacob and Mr Mohamed Abdullah Alhabshee, this event will be the first time that members of public can visit the Istana at night. One of the highlights of the evening will be a scintillating lightshow projected on the Istana Main Building facade, depicting the history and heritage of the Istana over the years. The event will also feature a series of live performances by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, and other home grown talents such as 53A, CAMOKAKIS, Clement Chow, Rahimah Rahim, and MICappella.
The Istana 150 Commemorative Event is a ticketed event. Tickets for Singaporeans and Permanent Residents are available at S$12 each, and those for non-Singaporeans at S$20 each. All proceeds of the event will be donated to the President’s Challenge.
Visitors can apply for the tickets at http://istana150event.sg starting from Friday, 13 September 2019, at 10.00am.
