Remarks by President Tony Tan at the Opening of Dr Ho Kah Leong's exhibition "Making Art Life: Ho Kah Leong 60 Years and Beyond"

Esteemed artist and former NAFA Principal, Dr Ho Kah Leong, 

Chairman of the NAFA Board, Ms Low Sin Leng,

President of the Singapore Art Society, Mr Terence Teo

Distinguished guests,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Good evening.

I am delighted to be here this evening as we celebrate the inspirational artistic journey of my old friend and colleague, Dr Ho Kah Leong. Kah Leong and I have known each other for over 35 years. We often met in the course of our work in Parliament, and we are also personal friends. 

Painting has been Kah Leong’s lifelong passion and hobby. He paints with intimate understanding, knowledge and experience of local life. It is no surprise that Kah Leong is marking his 80th birthday this year with an art exhibition.

I thank Kah Leong for inviting me to be part of this special occasion, and congratulate him on the opening of his long- awaited exhibition. 

It is with great pleasure that I declare this exhibition open. Thank you.
