Working Visit by President Halimah Yacob to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

President Halimah Yacob will make a Working Visit to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 18 to 19 September 2018. President Halimah is attending the annual Inter-University Tunku Chancellor Golf Tournament between the University of Malaya (UM) and the National University of Singapore (NUS), in her capacity as the Chancellor of NUS, at the invitation of the Chancellor of UM, His Royal Highness Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, the Sultan of Perak. The annual tournament has been held since 1968, with each university taking turns to host the tournament.
2 During the visit, President Halimah will also be hosted to tea by His Majesty Sultan Muhammad V, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong XV, and meet the Singaporean community in Kuala Lumpur at a reception hosted by the Singapore High Commission. President Halimah will be accompanied by Mr Mohamed Abdullah Alhabshee and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the President’s Office and the National University of Singapore.
3 During President Halimah’s absence, Mr J Y Pillay, Chairman of the Council of Presidential Advisers will exercise the functions of the office of President.
