Working Visit By President Tharman Shanmugaratnam to the United States of America from 4 to 10 December 2025

President Tharman Shanmugaratnam will make a working visit to Boston and New York in the United States from 4 to 10 December 2025.
2 In Boston, President Tharman will receive the 2025 Miriam Pozen Prize from the MIT Golub Center for Finance and Policy at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The award, given twice before[1], honours individuals who have made outstanding contributions to research or practice in financial policy. He will also deliver a keynote speech at the ceremony.
3 President Tharman will also speak at a conference hosted by Harvard University, jointly organised with the National University of Singapore and Peking University.
4 In New York, President Tharman will participate in a Group of Thirty (G30) plenary hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and chair a G30 Board of Trustees meeting.
5 President Tharman will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Finance, the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and the President’s Office.
[1] The previous recipients were Dr Mario Draghi (2023), the former Prime Minister of Italy and President of the European Central Bank, and the late Dr Stanley Fischer (2020), a leading academic on monetary policy and former Vice Chair of the US Federal Reserve and central bank governor in Israel.
