Mansfeld View in Lithograph

Luxembourg's Grand Duke Henri & Grand Duchess Maria Teresa presented this gift to President Tharman Shanmugaratnam during his State Visit to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg from March 23 to 28, 2025.

This gift is a framed lithograph print titled View of Luxembourg from the Gate of Mansfeld. Lithography is a printing process that uses a flat stone or metal plate on which the image is drawn with a greasy substance, allowing ink to adhere to the design while the non-image areas repel it.

The municipality of Mansfeld is best known as the home of Martin Luther, located in the eastern Harz foreland – the district of Mansfeld-Südharz in Saxony-Anhalt. It is now part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Luther Memorials.
