New Term for Presidential Council for Religious Harmony

        The Presidential Council for Religious Harmony starts a new three-year term from 15 September 2014. The Chairman and members of the Council are:

Re-appointed Members

1.      Venerable Seck Kwang Phing, President, Singapore Buddhist Federation - Buddhism

2.      Mr Rajendran s/o Sinnathamby, Former Chairman, Hindu Endowments Board - Hinduism

3.      Dr Mohamed Fatris Bakaram, Mufti of Singapore – Islam

4.      Mr Lim Khay Tham, General Secretary, National Council of Churches of Singapore – Protestant Christianity

Presidential Council for Religious Harmony (PCRH)

The Presidential Council for Religious Harmony is set up under the Maintenance of Religious Harmony Act. The Chairman and members are appointed by the President of the Republic of Singapore. The Council gives its advice to the Minister for Home Affairs on matters affecting the maintenance of religious harmony in Singapore which are referred to it by the Minister or by Parliament, and considers and makes recommendations to the President on restraining orders issued under the Act.
