National Day Istana Open House - Istana to welcome visitors for the first time since COVID-19
13 July 2021
The Istana is reopening its grounds to the public on Sunday, 1 Aug 2021, in celebration of National Day. However, in order to manage the crowd size, only ticket holders of the previous Istana Open House (IOH) will be admitted.
Due to COVID-19, the Istana grounds has been closed to the public since February 2020. Earlier this year, the IOH scheduled for 13 May 2021 to celebrate Labour Day and Hari Raya Puasa was cancelled due to Phase 2 (Heightened Alert).
With the gradual easing of community measures and as Singapore progressively resumes activities safely, the Istana will be inviting the ticket holders of the cancelled IOH on 13 May 2021 back for the upcoming National Day IOH on 1 Aug 2021.
To avoid gathering of large groups, there will be no performances, tours, booths or food trucks within the Istana grounds during this IOH, unlike previous ones. Safe distancing ambassadors will also be deployed to ensure that visitors observe safe distancing measures.
The Istana seeks visitors’ cooperation and understanding so that the upcoming Istana Open House will be a pleasant experience for all.
